You are buying analysts, not software
Managed EDR is a SOC service wrapped around a third-party agent. Compare it against MDR providers, not against EDR product licences.

The SOC cannot be bought on its own
Since June 2022 the ConnectWise SOC is only sold attached to Managed EDR or SIEM. There is no standalone SOC line to negotiate.

The remedy for a missed SLA is a credit
Service credits arrived in April 2026. A credit compensates for a breached response time, not for a breach that reached a client's data.

Renewal pricing is contracted to rise
The Master Agreement dated 7-23-21 states at §13.2 that per-unit pricing during any renewal term will increase. Exit notice is 60 days.

The engine underneath is somebody else's
SentinelOne, Bitdefender or Microsoft Defender does the detecting. Ask which engine your quote assumes and who owns that renewal.

Endpoint minimums survive uninstalling
Quantities cannot be decreased mid-term, and the SaaS Addendum keeps a minimum fee payable even after the agents have been uninstalled.

ConnectWise Managed EDR took its current name on 22 May 2026, having been sold as ConnectWise MDR since 2022 and as Fortify Endpoint before that — most of the web, and most competing quotes, still say MDR.
ConnectWise Managed EDR delivers 24x7 SOC monitoring, threat detection, analysis, triage and remote containment against a 15-minute service level agreement on an EDR engine you choose — SentinelOne, Bitdefender or Microsoft Defender for Business — rather than on an agent ConnectWise wrote itself.
ConnectWise attached service credits to the 15-minute SLA in April 2026 and reports an eight-minute mean time to respond. Since 9 April 2026 the service also ships inside Modern Threat Protection, a bundle of Managed EDR, SIEM and Email Security. No Gartner or Forrester placement exists for it.
